Programming STM32F103C8 Board using USB Port

In our previous tutorial we learnt the basics of the STM32 Development Board and also programmed it to blink an LED. But there was one huge drawback with it. In order to program the Board we utilised a FTDI programmer module and also had to toggle the boot 0 jumper between and 1 position while uploading and testing a code, which is surely a daunting task. Also the mini-USB port on the Development board was left totally unused. The reason for doing that is, when the STM32 development board is purchased it does not come with an Arduino ready boot loader and hence the board will not be discovered by your computer when connected through the USB.

The zuck reminded me that I built this seven years ago today back in 2011. It was an Arduino MIDI controller that barely worked, cobbled together w/ rando example code (& a spaghetti circuit [why no ground rail?!]) because I had zero idea what I was doing 😅 I was in college at the time and was feeling I needed to add more tech to my background to be able to get a j0rb. However trying to understand how code and electronics worked made me feel uber stupid so I basically put it all in a box after that summer and didn’t seriously revisit it until about 2 years ago. Perhaps I should have started with something simpler than MIDI on an Arduino Uno 😅

I wanted to improve my b-roll for showing off 3D prints and more detailed items so I decided to build my own turntable with controls for speed and direction. It can run on battery or via USB and the actual turntable portion can easily pop off and be printed in other colors, shapes or sizes.
